The Level Set Films Video Production Van (Video)

I produced a video to celebrate a pivotal moment for my company. We’ve outfitted a video production van to better suite my crew and clients.

Without further ado, here’s the video:

Hey, Lance Miller here. I’m the director of photography and video editor for Level Set Films.

For close to a decade, I’ve had the pleasure to work with clients on video productions, helping them bridge the gap from the start of an idea to delivering compelling video content.

Now, I have some exciting news. Over the past six months, I’ve been building the Level Set Films video production van.

During that time, I’ve aligned my processes, reflected on workflow, and dialed in a system that’ll work best for both me and my crew. Because when we’re streamlined, our clients benefit from an efficient, high quality production.

The van, a Ford Transit Connect, is the perfect size. It can fit in a car garage and I can pack all my gear in this thing.

I installed baltic birch sub flooring, an 8 foot ramp, a partition, and a roof rack.

In addition to the van space, I needed an effective way to move my equipment on and off the van.

The concept is based on a two cart system. The first cart stores bulky items like cases and bags and the second cart is customized with storage compartments and shelving—to give the grip department easy access to the accessories used often on set.

I’ve already brought the van out on productions, and it truly has changed the way I work.

Thanks for watching. Let me know what you think of the van in the comments, and we’ll see you on the next one.
